This project was designed to celebrate Maths Year 2000. Working in multi-partnership with Thames Water, Reading Borough Council, Water Aid and Central Berkshire Education Business Partnership. The aim of the project was to raise local awareness of the work carried out by Thames Water whilst reaching a multi-national audience through quality website materials.
600 Year 5 Reading school children enjoyed a day's visit to the water treatment plant over a two-week period each summer. They were joined by 70 Thames Water volunteers, many of whom returned each year taking a day's leave to avail themselves.
